Kansas City, MO: “If you’re someone who’s interested in new ideas, or finding out about the newest tech or industry trends, and interacting with others who are also interested, where do you go in KC?” asks Kevin McGinnis, founder of the Keystone Innovation District.
Until today, there hasn’t been an answer to this question. For the innovation community, there’s no single hub or weekly event where those interested in new ideas can gather in a casual setting to listen to speakers, engage with panels, and meet one-on-one with leaders in the community.
“In other cities across the country, meet-ups like this are happening every week,” continues McGinnis. “We want Sessions to be part of the fabric of our community – an event where people know they can just show up and have their minds stretched by any number of topics.”
Keystone Sessions is a weekly live program and meetup for the innovation, education and entrepreneurship communities in KC. Keystone Sessions will create impactful and inclusive pathways to collaboration and collective learning. Sessions will occur every Wednesday from 4-8 at Keystone CoLAB, 800 east 18th Street, with an hour at the beginning for networking.
During the event, Keystone will feature three 45-minute “sessions” on a wide range of topics that are not specifically related to each other. “This is designed to create a collision of ideas – which is often how innovation is sparked,” says McGinnis. “Oh, and did I mention free beer?”
